... the beauty that still remains.

I don't think of all the misery but of the beauty that still remains.

~Anne Frank, The Diary of a Young Girl

In light of the tragedy of this day many years ago, these words are appropriate not only in their meaning but also from whom these words are attributed to.   With tragedy comes sorrow, anger and disbelief.  Yet in order to survive and prevail, the beauty  that still remains must be appreciated, protected, and championed.

I am convinced all of humanity is born with more gifts than we know.

"I am convinced all of humanity is born with more gifts than we know.  Most are born geniuses and just get de-geniused rapidly."  ~ Buckminster Fuller

How can we release that inner unbound creative power and knowledge?

The mind is an amazing thing..from the imaginations of many are created the world as we know it.   We should encourage and accept one's ability to step out of the box, to use natural talents and  creative thinking.    Make it acceptable to be who you are and not support a
system created through classic education and society's norms, standardizing everyone, creating undue judgement and a resistance to change.

It's not who you are that holds you back....

It's not who you are that holds you back, it's who you think you're not.  ~Attributed to Hanoch McCarty

So who do you think you are not?  Sometimes we are getting the message from others that we are not..........not good enough, not strong enough, not loving enough,  just not enough.  Sometimes we are telling ourselves this story.

Make a list of your thoughts.   No really make a list, please!!! Just write down 3 things?  And if you don't have 3 things to say that's OK.   We are going to start off with just one anyway.

Once you have your list, look at each word or phrase separately and answer these questions>

Start with one item on your list:
1. How important is it to you to be this ..........?   If it isn't that important to you then let it go.   If it is important to you then move on to the following questions and actions.

2. Ask yourself why is it important?  It is something you want for yourself or it something that someone has told you you should be?  Is it truth or perhaps a story you have been lead to believe.  Do you want to be that person?

3. If this is something you want for yourself then create a plan for change.  Perhaps you need assistance in making the change or perhaps not. Reach out for help, if you do.  Actually reaching out may be your first step to change.

Beginning your plan
a. What is your goal?  What do you want to do, be or change?
b. What is one step or action can you take to make that change? Think Baby steps
c. Set a time when you will begin to take that small step.
d. Do it.
e. Repeat the process.

4.  And very important NOW MAKE A LIST OF WHAT YOU ARE..yes all the things you are and believe to be true of you.   Circle all the positive things about you.   There lies your strength.

Confidence comes not from always being right but from not fearing to be wrong. ~Peter T. Mcintyre

Confidence comes not from always being right but from not fearing to be wrong.
 ~Peter T. Mcintyre

Fears can be a pretty big part of life.   Fears can stop you from taking action on every level and aspect of your life.  There are clinically diagnosed fears, situational fears and there are the everyday fears and anxieties.   Things like judgement of others and self.   Not meeting your own expectations or what you perceive as the expectations of others.

This quote really speaks to a concept that can make a marked change in one's outlook on life.   What if it was OK to make a mistake, or not be the absolute best (that's a value judgement), or accepted yourself for who you are?

Confidence is a wonderful thing.  It gives you the permission to take action and know that if even if things don't go exactly as you intended, you have the ability to take action again.....learning along the way that you can make a change, you can gain new knowledge and skills, and that you can accept yourself.
